THE FABURE TWINS

Guess what i bet many of you would have thought its impossible to start a business at 19 when you are still depending on your parent for everything,well i used to have the feelings that its bad to start thinking about how to make money at a teenager age, because i taught it will lead me into stealing(picking) from mum or dad's money or i'll lose focus in school.My dream for the year 2011 is to see more young africans breakout of their negative environment and limitations and show case their creativity by doing something extraordinary that the society will marvel.

The guys behind Alex Folzi Ltd, Fola and Fela are the creative’s and owners of startup label, Alex Folzi.  They were born August 13, 1991 in Benin city, Edo state, Nigeria and grew up in Benin/Lagos/Abuja before finally moving to Canada for studies. Growing up they practically travelled all over the world. This love for adventure and exploration served as inspiration for their label.  They are undergrads at University of Alberta.I was privilledge to talk with fela and fola through a friend(Ridwan), My brother and i had a long list of questions for this young Ceo's because we have been trying different things too,luckily for us they had all the answers to our questions.

I can remember coming back from school on a monday and i told my mum to give me some money to start a business,and she counld not stop laughing,finally she asked me what business i intern going into,i told her i want to buy things like candy,biscuit and chewing gum to hawk after school, and i told her, i have a friend in school that is doing the same thing and he's rich already  because he shops alot  in school during break time, My mum was so pissed with me and she almost gave me a slap...lol. Since that day i never taught about doing business untill some years back when i knew i could compel them to do what i wanted. So i really wanted to know how fela and fola's parent felt about their idea of going into business, before i could ask the question Mike did,the answer that Fela gave was exactly want i expected,he said "yeah mum and dad were not really cool with the idea at first but finally the gave in because they knew nothing could stop us". When i heard this i knew this guys are great because it takes guts to argue and get what you want from daddy's and mummy's especially my parent..lol.

I couldnt stop listening to them,as Mike kept on asking questions, i guess i should write the exact conversation between them..

MIKE:Where do you see Alex Folzi in the next 10yrs?

Fela:Alex Folzi is not all about fashion,it goes beyong that.we have interesting in other areas such as real estate and cars,we intend to go with the brand name Alex Folzi.so we are dreaming big and aiming high.we are hoping to feature in alot of run way shows and come out with great new products.

Mike: Where are your goods produced?

Fola: This collection was manufactured in China

Mike: Woah,you mean you are working with a Chinese company, (Mike lives in China)

Fela: Yeah and our next collection would be manufactured in Canada and the US.
